My candle has a rough top after burning? The rough, bumpy tops after burning a soy wax candle are caused when the hot wax in the melt pool cools and solidifies at an inconsistent rate. This is a feature of natural soy wax, and not a sign you did anything incorrectly. This is proof of our all-natural soy wax candles!

How are Mollie Browns Candles safe to burn around my dog?Our candles are handmade using carefully sourced ingredients that aim to avoid chemical and oils known to be toxic to dogs. We have extensively researched to ensure the essential oils used, in quantities provided within our products, are generally regarded as safe for dogs. Please note - every human and animal can react differently around candles and essential oils, so please keep an eye out for anything unusual. Whilst we endeavour to use essential oils that are generally regarded as safe, we cannot provide guarantee. Therefore, usage around your pet is at your own discretion. ALWAYS KEEP CANDLES OUT OF REACH OF YOUR PET.
-
How do I burn my candle safely?Never leave a burning candle unattended. Ensure candle is placed on a flat surface, away from any items that might be affected by heat. Ensure there are no draughts that might affect the flame or cause items to come into contact with the naked flame. Always allow at least 10 cm between burning candles

My candle has started to 'frost'?Frosting is a byproduct of a natural wax, and is caused by the growth of tiny crystals on the surfaces of the wax. All soy wax will frost over time, but luckily frosting is solely an aesthetic issue and does not affect the way your candle burns or smells.
-
How do I get the best out of my candle? On the first burn, the candle must be allowed to acheive a full melt pool across the top of the candle. Ensure wick is upright to ensure an even burn. Burn for a maximum of 4 hours a time. Ensure wick is up right to ensure an even burn. If the wick bends over slightly during use – extinguish the flame, re trim to 5mm before relighting. This can also help to keep the wax pool clear from debris.
-
Are your candles vegan friendly?Yes! Our candles are made using natural products that are not tested on animals and do not contain animal derivatives.
-
My candle seems to have air bubbles at the side of the glass? The air bubbles, or as we call them 'wet spots' are a complete natural feature. These are common in hand poured candles and are caused by shrinkage as the wax cools within the glass. The wax will generally stick to the glass but some of the wax pulls away from the glass as it cools. This does not affect the burning of your candle and they will often settle and subside once the glass warms during use.
